The organizing team

ToPCon is planned, organized, and hosted by the Rede Group. Our team has tremendous depth of knowledge and experience in the field of commercial tobacco prevention. Rede Group has served as statewide tobacco prevention program training and technical assistance providers for several states and is the host organization for the annual Cannabis Action Conference (CannAct).

Robb Hutson, MA

Robb Hutson is the President of the Rede Group and a communications and public health professional with expertise in training, technical assistance, communication, and technology systems. He has provided technical assistance and training to tobacco, marijuana, alcohol and other drug prevention programs in several states.

Alongside Jill, Robb has facilitated annual tobacco program managers meetings across the US for the Public Health Law Center, Tobacco Control Legal Consortium.

Robb is the manager and lead organizer of the Cannabis Action Conference (CannAct) and ToPCon.

Robb is also the Past-President of the Oregon Public Health Association.

Jill Huston, MA

Jill Huston is the CEO of the Rede Group. She is a health policy professional with 25 years experience researching, analyzing, developing and implementing successful public policy campaigns and initiatives with an emphasis on tobacco prevention and control.

Jill has worked for the American Cancer Society, Clackamas County, and the State of Oregon (most recently as the Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Section Policy Manager). Jill has also been on the board and President of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Oregon and SW Washington Affiliate. In 2010, Jill received the Maurine Neuberger Award for Distinguished Career Achievement in Tobacco Control.


KC Thompson

KC is passionate about working to eliminate barriers that create health disparities in communities as well as increasing access to mental and behavioral health resources. KC completed a Graduate Certificate of Public Health at Oregon State University and has a BA in social science from Western Oregon University. He spent a year volunteering in New Orleans through the AmeriCorps VISTA program where he organized volunteers and focused on emergency preparedness and community development.

KC has assisted Robb with the management of the Cannabis Action Conference (CannAct) for the past three years and will play a key role in the organization of ToPCon.
